Improving access to services and high quality study spaces for university and college students, leveraging activity elsewhere in the docks to activate the site.

Student-tailored Services
Active ground floor use of the student hub to be dedicated to student-tailored services. Assessing what students at the University of East London currently lack is essential to understand how this site would become of use. Shops and places to eat must be affordable and accessible to student budgets, and services such as banks, launderettes, stationery shops, IT support and student wellbeing support should also be available.

The addition of these services would be of great value to students living in the docks, including on the proposed upper floors of this building. They also offer greater choice for nearby communities.

-
Heated seating and collaboration booths
-
Lounge areas
-
Shaded areas for hot summer days
-
Woodland work areas for a more peaceful work environment
-
